Offbeat Offensive tore up The Bandstand in Southsea with a raw, high-energy set that had the crowd skanking from start to finish. Frontman, Sam Jenko, was a force to be reckoned with, delivering commanding stage presence and powerful vocals throughout.
Mike from Skaraman stepped in on guitar and slotted in effortlessly, holding down the parts with confidence and no sign of disruption to the band’s usual energy.
The brass section stood out throughout, locking into tight, punchy lines that added real lift and texture to the band’s sound without ever losing its edge, while bassist Craig Mallis kept the chaos moving with his constant on-stage energy and movement.
They mostly played original tracks, including 'Lessons of the Second', which was my personal favourite of the set and really showed why Offbeat Offensive are staples in the ska-punk scene and their takes on Monkey Man and Gangsters had everyone singing along by the end.
