Floras brought a bright, whimsical charm to Heartbreakers on June 1st. Playing to a lively crowd that filled the room nearly to capacity, the band had the audience with them throughout, with plenty of singing, dancing and enthusiasm from the crowd.
Blending originals with a couple of well-chosen covers, Floras struck a balance between playful and accomplished. Their takes on She’s Electric and Hot and Cold were among the night’s highlights, landing well with the crowd while fitting neatly into the band’s own sound. At the center of it all was a commanding vocal performance from the band’s singer, whose powerful voice and confident stage presence gave the set its momentum.
The standout moment came at the end of the show, when the singer and lead guitarist stepped into the crowd to sing and dance alongside the audience, bringing the set to a close on a high. While Heartbreakers’ lighting continues to be frustratingly dim, the venue’s intimate size and strong acoustics ensured the music still hit exactly as it should. Floras also made time to chat with fans after the set, rounding off a performance that felt warm, personal and easy to get swept up in.
